FRES sets industry example with battery recycling

On 20 July 2021 a container of 667 batteries was loaded in Uganda, ready to be recycled. As part of our environmental responsibility and energy-as-a-service promise to our customers, FRES ensures that all batteries used in our solar systems are properly recycled at the end of their lifetime.
Our partner Enviroserve from Rwanda, pioneer in e-waste management in East Africa and set up with UNEP support, ensures proper recycling following ISO 14001 and several other accreditations. For FRES companies in West Africa, Gravita with locations in Ghana and Senegal is taking care of responsible recycling.
