Minigrid satisfaction discussed in Contuboel

Since 2016 FRES operates a solar center in Contibuel, Guinea-Bissau, that provides electricity to households, businesses and village lighting. On 20 March a delegation of FRES Guiné-Bissau and FRES The Netherlands consulted the minigrid customers on their experiences during the townhall meeting.

Currently the village lighting switches off after midnight. The villagers requested the street lighting to stay on until at least 3am in the morning. Other suggestions made were to extend the service to water pumping and add special services for women who need refrigeration for their businesses.

The delegation also explored extending the network a nearby location to enable irrigation of plots where women grow vegetables for the region.
